Consciousness and Meditation
The direct experience of Life and Consciousness Itself is often described as being like a sort of bathing in 'Golden Energy', or 'Seeing the Light' and like most clichés, they are so named because they are just plainly true. If you meditate effectively for long enough (meaning months or years), you will eventually get through the darkness of the ego-experience and striving and be able to free yourself, to come face to face with this most beautiful light - The Golden Inner Soul. This is the pure, sacred energy of true, unconditional Love that creates, heals and binds all of Life - even in the face of (d)evil, pain and fear. It is not only your inner eternal soul, it is everyone's soul as we are one with each other! When you acquire this much higher state of mind, you have reached your life goal or destination - Deep or Higher Consciousness!
You don't have to meditate to experience this, it is not possible to set-up a "special exercise" to attain this state of mind. It often happens spontaneously to many people in different ways in their mundane life when least expected. We may go there just prior to sleep, or experience it in a moment of personal reflection or clarity. Most people probably experience contact with this energy at different times in their lives, even if it only briefly (minutes or hours).=== Meditating is just a really easy to learn and simple way to regularly go to this blissful place and reconnect with the Universal Energy and regenerate your inner core and body as well. Doing so will bring you increased consciousness, awareness, happiness and health in your everyday, mundane personal life. It is a beautifully simple, proven, and a highly effective process that has been working for ever as the old Masters told us and will work for anyone who puts in the effort.

It will become apparent how it is composed solely of some sort of "etheric" energy, and that our thoughts and feelings have an attractive power on objects, people and situations that we could not have previously perceived. If we choose, our minds will become sponge like an very receptive for small nuances, capable of soaking up new information at a much more rapid rate, from much different directions at the same time and with far greater retention, improving your memory.
